G.R. Clark Playlot Project
The GR Clark Playlot Project seeks to support students and staff and benefit The Island community by maximizing the potential of the outdoor playlot and green spaces at GR Clark Elementary School.
PHASE 1 COMPLETE
Renovation of Existing Green Space
In the Fall of 2021 we beautified the area outside the Pre-K and Kindergarten entrances with raised garden beds and benches.

GR CLARK Letters & Panther Heads Installed on Fences
In the Spring of 2023 we installed new ‘GR CLARK’ lettering and custom made panther head logos on the outer fence of the playlot to show our panther pride!

New Lines & Artwork
In the summer of 2024, new painted lines and artwork were added to the playlot.
PHASE 4 IN PROCESS
Crosswalk Safety & Beautification
We are advocating for updated and safer crosswalks at the main pedestrian traffic intersections adjacent to GR Clark school.
THE DREAM IN PROCESS
Playlot Expansion & Redevelopment
The students of GR Clark have incredible ideas for how to improve their playlot and make it a space for exercise and wellness. We are dreaming of expanding the footprint of the playlot and redeveloping the entire area into a space that benefits Clark and the Island community.
